Let's delve into the differences between Hanuman Janmotsav and Hanuman Jayanti:

1.Origin and Significance:

Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on Purnima of the Hindu lunar month of Chaitra, which usually falls in March or April. It commemorates the birth of Lord Hanuman and is observed with prayers, hymns, fasting, and devotional rituals.

Hanuman Janmotsav, on the other hand, refers to the celebration of Hanuman's birth anniversary according to the Hindu calendar. It is typically observed on the 15th day Purnima of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu lunar month of Ashwin, which falls in September or October. While less widely celebrated than Hanuman Jayanti, Hanuman Janmotsav holds significance in certain regions and communities.

2.Observances and Customs:

On Hanuman Jayanti, devotees observe fasts, visit temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman, and offer prayers and floral tributes to the deity. Special bhajans, kirtans, and recitations of Hanuman Chalisa are performed throughout the day. Some devotees also engage in charitable activities and distribute prasad to devotees.

While Hanuman Janmotsav shares similar observances with Hanuman Jayanti, the customs and rituals may vary depending on regional traditions. In some places, elaborate processions, musical performances, and theatrical presentations depicting episodes from Hanuman's life are organized to mark the occasion.
