Open letter to 'Devanga Jagadguru' Sri Sri Dayanand Puri Maha Swamy, Sri Gayatri Peeta, Hampi, Karnataka.

My salutations Mahaswamij,

I wish to compliment your efforts of integrating the different groups of our community into one.

I wish to bring to your kind notice that there are efforts to undermine our community's Sri Gayatri Peeta .

It has been accepted by various historical sources that in 1371 Sri Gayatri Peeta at Hampi, the then capital city of Vijayanagar Empire was established under Sri Sri Muddusanga Maha Swamy I.

But certain people of our community are creating a narrative, that there are five Sri Gayatri Peeta across the Indian Subcontinent, and DevangaJagadguru Sri Sri Muddusanga Maha Swamy, is not considered as the first head of Sri Gayatri Peeta at Hampi, which is misleading and dangerously undermining our community's institutions ,and customs.

My intervention is limited for lack of information, hence on behalf of our community, I humbly request your intervention in stopping such attempts of slandering our community's ancient heritage, and traditions

There are rumours that Devanga Purana was composed by a brahmin scholar in the 18th century, and lacks authenticity. Hence on behalf of our community, I humbly request your divine intervention to publishing, and distributing Sri Gayatri Peeta's Devanga Purana.

Today Social media is distorting the appearance of our community's founder Sri Sri Devala Maharishi. I humbly request your divine intervention in standardizing Sri Devala Maharishi's portrait in the manner of Sri Aadi Shankaracharya's, whose portrait is uniform across the world.

With the disintegration of joint families in our community, it has created a problem for parents in seeking prospective brides and bridegrooms for their children as they lack information about their family details like gotra etc. It would be helpful, if Sri Gayatri Peeta under your divine guidance, publish a book containing genealogy details of Devanga families.

Maha Swamy, my requests are endless, but I would like your divine intervention in Preserving the Sacred Tenets and Institutions of Our Community's Faith.

Your obedient,
GaviRangappa S P
