National Handloom Day 2023

National Handloom Day is being celebrated on 7th August 2023, and this year's theme as usual would be in promoting handlooms products.

However this year I would like you people to think about the manufacturing and sale of cheap replicas of well-known handloom sarees..

Today customers are hesitating to purchase handlooms sarees on the ground that it could be a imitation of the original weaveing process.

Is it not our responsibility of educating the weavers who manufacture such sarees,and that such practices are disastrous for textiles and end of days for weavers.

Handloom sarees are a cherished part of Indian culture, representing the weaver's skills, and heritage of generations. 

However, the market has seen an influx of cheap replicas, that not only misrepresent the authenticity of handlooms but also devalue the craftsmanship involved. 

I would like to create awareness about the importance of preserving the essence of handloom sarees and why we should say no to such imitations. 

By rejecting these cheap replicas, we can help sustain the handloom Weavers, and ensure its legacy for future generations.

Preserving the essence of handloom sarees is essential for the sustainability of the handloom industry.  Rejecting cheap replicas  and spreading awareness about the craftsmanship of weavers ,and cultural significance of original handlooms can create a positive impact.
