Forgotten Silk Merchants Of Bangalore City - Part 03

Late Yajaman T Moodalaiah's journey from Chikkannayakanahalli, Tumkur district to Bangalore City as a Silk merchant is an inspiring story for our community's entrepreneurs.

Late T Moodalaiah completed his education in chikkannayakanahalli got a job in the revenue department Government of Mysore but his entrepreneurship didn't permit him to continue  as a bureaucrat.

When his brother in law had established a cotton weaving factory at Channapatna Ramnagar District he joined, subsequently he was shifted Bengaluru City when a new factory was set up.

When T Ramaiah and Brother set up their Textiles shop in Chickpet, Bangalore City, he joined and learned the skills of persuasion customers to make their purchases, even today when we go for purchasing silk fabrics in Chickpet you can observe shopkeeper's persuasion skills.

He entrepreneur skills impressed his business associate enabling him to set up silk weaving factories and Yajaman Silk House a well-known shop, which was situated in Devanga Market, Sri Devara Dasmayayya Road, Bengaluru.

Late T Moodalaiah was elected as one of the Vice presidents of Devanga Sangha, Devanga Hostel Road, Bengaluru.

When Devanga Bank was merged with Vijay Bank in the 1960 our community's entrepreneurs, and Devanga Sangha Bengaluru, join hands to establish a financial institution for our community people.

In 1963 Textile cooperative Bank Ltd Bengaluru. was incorporated, and Late T Moodalaiah was one it's founders and former President. He was associated with many institutions of our community.
