The oldest of these temples is Sri Annamma Devi her temple is situated on Subedar Chatram Road, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, and is considered to be the guardian goddess from the times of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda.

Sri Patalamma's temple is situated diagonally opposite to  Elephant Rock temple near South End circle Jayanagar Bengaluru.

Sri Gadagamma's temple is in Domlur on Old airport Road, Bengaluru

Sri Muthyallamma's temple is located in Shivajinagar, Bengaluru and is associated with the Great Plague of 1880s.

All the four temples are well-known in the annals of Bengaluru's history for safeguarding it's residents especially during pandemics.

These four sisters goddesses are the quadrilateral deities of Bengaluru believed to be powerful Goddess like Kolkata's Kali Devi, and Mumbai's Mumba Devi.

These temples were built on elevated land near well known Lakes that traditionally marked the outer periphery of Bengaluru.

It is stated that these Goddesses would assist devotees at times of outbreak of endemics like small pox, plague or natural calamities.

Even today many devotees follow the customs that their forefathers adopted 400 years ago.

Certain communities have a tradition of being newly married couples to their temples to complete their daughter's marriage rituals.

"The Goddess does not rule the world; She is the world. Manifest in each of us, She can be known internally by every individual, in all her magnificent diversity."
